Valley Gem tours to Henderson Hall Beginning in June – Tuesdays and Thursdays
NEW! This year, the Valley Gem of Marietta will offer sightseeing trips to Henderson Hall . The trip begins at the Valley Gem Landing where you will board the boat and depart at 10:30am for the Henderson Hall landing. There you will disembark and ride the Henderson trolley to the Hall grounds and tour the beautiful and well- preserved home of the Henderson Family. Your adventure will end with a trolley tour through Williamstown, WV, across the bridge and through Marietta, OH and back to the Valley Gem Landing parking area. The ticket cost is $19 for Adults, $17 for Seniors (55+) and $10 for children 3-12 and includes the Valley Gem ride, entry to the Hall and your trolley ride.
Henderson Hall Sightseeing Tours via the Valley Gem are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June, July, August and October. Tickets go on sale at 10:00am, boat departs at 10:30am.
Scottish Evening at Henderson Hall Friday – April 19, 2019
Come and spend an evening in the beautiful old mansion that was once home to five generations of the Henderson clan. The evening will include an open home tour, with live Scottish music, entertainment, and of course a taste of great lite Scottish fare along with a variety of refreshments. The evening is a benefit for the Hall and is held concurrently with the Scottish and Celtic Heritage Festival at the City Park the following day.
Cost for the evening event is $20 per person or $35 for couples.
Henderson Hall Antique Auto ShowSaturday, June 1, 2019 - 9:00am – 3:00pm
Henderson Hall will host the 4th annual Pioneer Antique Auto Club Car show. The club holds numerous shows throughout the region. Each year, antique and classic cars and trucks invade the beautiful grounds of Henderson Hall. Model T’s, restored and original antique autos, military jeeps, trucks, and muscle cars of a day gone by cover the open fields surrounding the hall. Hall tours and concessions are available throughout the day. There is no admission fee for the car show or music event. The hall is open for tours 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Henderson Hall Dinner CruisesJune 8, 2019 and August 3, 2019
NEW! The Henderson Family has a storied history in our area but also played a huge role in the history of our nation. This Henderson Hall Dinner Cruise will begin at 3pm with a short trip to the landing where we you will disembark and ride the Henderson trolley to the plantation grounds. Guests will spend around two hours touring the Hall and the surrounding grounds. At 5:30pm, you will board the boat again and see it transformed for a wonderful dinner as you cruise the Ohio River enjoying a delicious meal. $48 for adults, $46 for seniors (55+), $38 for children (3-12).
Civil War Re-enactmentJune 22-23, 2019
NEW! The Valley Gem will offer an exciting trip to the Henderson Hall Civil War Re-enactment on Saturday, June 22, 2019. This once a year event depicts a battle between North and South on the grounds of Henderson Hall Plantation. This trip will start out with a full hot breakfast as we depart at 9am for the Plantation. We will have some special guests riding on the boat to the re-enactment. When you arrive at the landing you will disembark and board the Henderson trolley. The camps are open to walk through and the Hall will be open to tour as well. The battle will begin around Noon. Once the battle is complete, you will be taken by trolley to board the boat where lunch will be waiting for you to enjoy during your return trip to the landing arriving around 3pm. Free vehicle parking for this two- day event is available at the Hall.
Date: June 22; 9am-3pm; $75.00 per person and includes breakfast and lunch on the Valley Gem.
Henderson Hall Antique Engine ShowSaturday - August 3, 2019 - 9:00am – 3:00pm
This event, sponsored by the Wood County Fly-Wheelers is a one of a kind display of antique engines and machines that were once used in the oil and gas industry, as well as many other industries throughout the region. In addition, walk back in time with antique tractors, mowers, and the one of a kind contraption known as the “Do Nothing Machine”. Concessions are available throughout the day and there is no cost for the event. The Hall is open for the event from 9:00am–5:00pm.
Henderson Hall Candlelight CruiseOctober 25, 2019
NEW! Take a candlelight tour of the Henderson Hall Plantation on Friday evening, October 25, 2019. Take the Valley Gem down the beautiful Ohio to Henderson Hall. The boat will leave the landing at 6:00pm and dinner will be served as we travel to the Henderson Landing and cruise the Ohio River. You will have a candlelight tour of the Hall from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. At 9:30pm you will board the Valley Gem for your return trip back to the Valley Gem landing. $48 for Adults, $46 for Seniors 55+, $38 for Children 3-12.
A Henderson Christmas EveningSaturday – December 7, 2019 - 6:00PM – 9:00PM
The barriers come down and our guests are greeted to a relaxing evening with great food and live music. Docents will greet you at the door and you will be welcomed as guests of the Henderson family. This is a once a year event, that allows guests to walk freely throughout the home, The hall is beautifully decorated and our docents are friendly and willing to share stories and tales about this wonderful family who once called Henderson Hall their home. Celebrate the Christmas season with us! Cost for the evening is $15 per person or $25 per couple.
Christmas at the Plantation Saturday – December 14, 2019 5:00 pm – 9:00pm
NEW! Take the Valley Gem and enjoy a Christmas journey back in time to the Henderson Hall Plantation. You will board the Valley Gem at 5:00pm and have a lovely Christmas dinner while traveling down the Ohio River. Around 6:30pm, you will land at the Plantation landing where we will be met by the Henderson trolley to take you to majestic Henderson Hall for a special, ropes down, candlelit tour of the house. The hall will be filled with music and guides to help you enjoy a relaxing, entertaining evening. You will be greeted by docents in period costume to help you take in the house and all it's rich history. At 8:30pm you will board the Valley Gem for your return trip back to the landing.
